It’s never a good idea to take an experimental vaccine or drug out of fear, politics, etc. There needs to be clinical trials that span for years and if there isn’t - one should question it.
And I thought 4,000 was a lot.
But unlike vitamin A, vitamin D can be taken at high levels safely.
What had been your intake in the period directly before you got the infection?
Would you normally be taking that amount if this Delta wasn't around?
Do you take only D3 or also other types of D?
There was also some research suggesting vitamin K2 could also be helpful in reducing mortality
although I don't take it .
What other supplements do you consider specifically protective against COVID ?
Did you test low on Vit D? Are you just taking this as a prophylactically defense.
I take about 6-7,000. I'm low naturally
A long time ago. I started taking 10k after suffering from chronic back pain only to find out my inflammation was caused directly from my diet. I used to reason that since I’m a gym goer I was healthy, but nope! So I started with the 10k of vitamin d3 in 2017 - way before the pandemic hit and only consume grass finished meats, vegetables, cheeses and pasture raised eggs. That’s all I need. No red #5, no breads, or anything else made by man for that matter. I’ve been living inflammation free now since 2018.

Vitamin C, and zinc (the latter of which prevents viral spread into the cell). I don’t take those vitamins tho. Those I get from food. (Meats and vegetables).
Oh I forgot to mention - 10k IUs of vitamin D3 should always be accompanied by vitamin K2 of 100mcg of MK7. Vitamin K2 is the anti blood clotting vitamin that also prevents calcification of the arteries - the excess calcium is pushed into the bone - where it belongs. But most supplements come with K2 (MK7).
Foe the new people who are reading, I’m not a doctor nor a nutritionist - just sharing the wealth of information of what benefited me and many others.
He doesn’t even acknowledge that vitamin D levels have a lot to do with how one recovers from Covid and other infections for that matter. Mine are at 105 nmol/l and covid was a cakewalk for me. Not saying this to be holier than thou but to share the wealth.
I just read that above 150 ng/ml is the level at which there can be possible D side effects
although they say " 4,000 IU or less per day is considered safe"
but I have read much higher doses can be taken safely but I am not sure how long a period of time

When you take sun, you get about 20k. But yes, I was also skeptical about the supplements. I’m just happy I’m pain free. Your doctor will tell you when to slow it down. Hopefully, people will go once a year for their checkups.
Keep up the good work Storm.
My wife and I Covid Free since the arrival of this man made atrocity.
Healthy living and eating as well as distancing and masks working for us.
If we do have the misfortune of becoming infected we are hopeful of a quick
recovery by natural means. If extra help is needed our medical coverage is there as a backup.
Dunkin Donuts has a sign on their doors that you must be vaccinated to enter even if you are buying take out and not dining in. Anyone know if they are actually checking vaccine cards if you aren’t dining in? Most people probably buy take out instead of eating at the handful of tables. My local McDonald’s closed off their seating so they can be exempt from checking for vaccines.
