Mentioned this in another post some time ago. No, many times not a GD meter reader/parking enforcement agent or NYPD can be found during ASP periods. I'm like why the eff am I the only one sitting in or moving my ride when those eegits don't bother giving out tickets?

When street sweeper shows up he leans on his horn because cars don't (or rather won't move).

Some areas have heavy parking enforcement and others don’t. On the Long Island Expressway Service road just east of Springfield Boulevard in Oakland Gardens, cars and trucks especially double park with impunity outside a bagel shop. It’s a heavily trafficked area with many schools nearby and you won’t ever see anyone get a double parking ticket. In fact the middle lane has become a de facto truck stop for big rigs and every other kind of truck.

About two weeks ago was walking down 80th street between Second and Third and traffic was backed up. Cause was a double parked ride parked in front of Manhattan Veterinary Group. Asked doorman on block how long had this been going on and he said for about fifteen minutes. Imagine some eegit during middle of day double parks their ride and just goes about their business blocking traffic, meanwhile a conga line of vehicles are packed up and leaning on their horns.

About five or so minutes later some female comes running out of Manhattan Veterinary Group with "who me? " "I'm sorry..." look on her face and gets into ride then pulls off. Meanwhile during this whole time not a GD PEA, NYPD or anyone else bothered to show up or even was on patrol.

Female was lucky because some of the guys stuck behind her were getting antsy. They were taking pictures of that ride with their phones, calling NYPD, and one very large truck was thinking "eff it" and was going to attempt to pass, if it ripped off a mirror or otherwise damaged that double parked ride, so be it.....

I’ve noticed that in a part of Astoria where I am very often lately.
To the point that when getting in my car, a man randomly asked me if they were enforcing alternate side parking because he also noticed that nobody moves their car at the appointed times and nobody got a ticket.
I guess it depends on the precinct and many other factors.

You're seeing more double parked rides in part due to increase of delivery services like Door Dash and others. Then you have the eegit drivers of Uber and other ride share schemes adding to those woes as well.

Parking is becoming very difficult to find not just in Manhattan but all over as city takes away hundreds of spots. Bike lanes, Citibike stations, and now those GD outdoor restaurant and bar seating.

Sometimes only spots open are on a hydrant or other No Parking zones, and often during day someone making a delivery or whatever is sitting on that spot. So people just double park and take their chances. Increasingly from what have seen over past year or so unless NYPD happens to be passing by (and not always then), they can't be bothered.

You also have a huge increase in drivers that only give a GD about themselves.... Again about a week ago was walking up 80th towards Third one evening after getting some gelato. Guy in white SUV spied a ride pulling out and wanted that spot, trouble is not only was there traffic behind him, but two FDNY trucks with sirens wailing. Did he move? No he did not, he waited until it was clear guy wasn't pulling out quickly enough and only after FDNY was seriously leaning on those horns did he pull up into an empty driveway space so traffic could pass.
