Think Adams will pull it off but just in case...

https://ny.chalkbeat.org/2021/6/29/2...r-race-schools

New York City’s first-ever mayoral primary with ranked-choice voting was upended by the latest vote tally on Tuesday, as Kathryn Garcia appeared to gain significant ground on Democratic front-runner Eric Adams.

But hours after releasing the results that showed Adams’ lead shrinking, the Board of Elections acknowledged a “discrepancy” in the tabulations, sending the race into upheaval. The victor won’t be known until mid-July.

Tuesday’s results appeared to be a shot in the arm for Garcia, who has vowed to downsize the education department and move $130 million into principals’ budgets for teachers and other school-level priorities...

How are 100k+ erroneous votes that were walked back a few hours later a "shot in the arm" to Garcia?

To answer your question, it means nothing. You could quintuple the school budget and it wouldn't help because the quality of most NYC public school students is poor.

First of all, it's not "most" because that would imply well over 50% which is not the case.

But a substantial percentage are indeed poor quality students because of complex and difficult issues in their home environment
and/or the fact that education is not a priority in their home environment. Actually, in some cases their education is actively discouraged or sabotaged.

Additionally, in some schools there are so many of these students that their presence tends to make the education of all much more difficult or close to impossible.

The bottom line is that education of children has to be a top priority in their home environment and no amount of money is going to make up for the lack of it and the disruption caused by it.

Here it is in a nut shell.

Eric Adams former cop who was not endorsesd by his own Police Department
as the Democratic Pick for the Mayoral run versus......

Curtis Sliwa Founder of the Guardian Angels endorsed by one of the best
New York City Crime Fighter's of my lifetime Mayor Rudolph Giuliani representing
the Republican Party.

New York city lost a congressional seat as of April 2021 because of folks fleeing the city
due to increases in crime, police mismanagement and giving criminals a free get out of jail card.

Republicans are outnumbered by Democratic Voters in New York City by at least 6 to 1 and as high as 8 to 1.
The call for fighting New York City crime has never been louder and only a vote for Republican Mayor candidate
Curtis Sliwa is the common sense vote. A Democratic Vote will only further doom this city. Have you not had your
fill of Democratic Bill DeBlasio? Isn't that enough?

In addition Curtis is an animal lover, pet rescuer and promises to put an end to all Kill shelters in New York City.
How can you sit there and say NO?

Think for the soul of this city. Think for the soul of our four legged friends.

Vote Republican. Vote Curtis Sliwa.
