Netflix is opening its new production studio in Bushwick, marking the first time the entertainment giant is staking turf in New York City.

In its quest to build the world’s first global TV service, Netflix Inc. has set up production facilities in Madrid, Seoul, Toronto and London. This fall, it will roll one out a little closer to home.
In September, Netflix will be opening a new studio in Bushwick, a neighborhood of about 100,000 people in Brooklyn, New York. The 170,000-square-foot facility includes six sound stages, as well as editing suites, meeting rooms and a commissary. The sound stages have enough space to film two TV shows at the same time, or one blockbuster movie.
The number of projects produced in New York has more than doubled since 2015 thanks, in part, to a state tax incentive program that allocates $420 million a year in giveaways to attract productions. By opening a studio in Bushwick, Netflix is giving a big vote of confidence in New York as a production hub.
Netflix intends to add thousands of jobs with the opening of this studio. Honestly, Netflix locating this studio in one of the trendiest parts of the city doesn't surprise me at all. I am surprised, though, that it took this long to officially open a location here.
It's a bit more like an expansion of their presence as Netflix has been leasing multiple spaces here for production and otherwise for several years now. It's too bad that the studio opened wasn't in the part of Bushwick near Broadway Junction as that area can probably use a boost a lot more and it'd be easier for a lot of people to get to.
Being set in NYC is different then being filmed in NYC.
But there currently are quite a bit of tv shows that are set and filmed here.
I would prefer the tv shows to be set and filmed in NYC, however, I'll take whatever is available.
Is there a current list that I can check to see? Most of the lists online are not current and show tv shows/movies.
