One of the last things he is doing before he leaves officially is signing legislation enacting the “Housing Our Neighbors with Dignity Act,” (HONDA). The law paves the way for distressed hotels and other commercial properties to be used for affordable housing. Thoughts?

Small LLs, this is your last chance to make any type of money in residential real estate in NYC (if this is how you really want to spend your days making money)

Did you read? The law specifically says commercial properties. Sorry to disappoint but this is not the godsend small LLs were hoping for. Cuomo managed to screw over NY one more time before he leaves.

Lol. Were you really suggesting that I thought small time LLs will turn their 3 unit building into 12 rooms? Lol. Sell the property and invest in some vacant commercial builidng, turn it into an SRO - if housing people is really how you want to make your money, here's the opportunity. It's happening across the country already, conversion of commercial space into residential housing.

Just think how many people you could house in a vacant MALL. Three hundred cubicles in a Penney's, 300 more in a Sears, 300 in a KMart, 25 in a Border's Books. The sky's the limit. One Dollar Tree for each 300 resident.
And ONE Whole Foods for the imaginary Welfare Queen.
