Democrats have a PR machine, the mainstream media, on their side. They get to paint one side as good and another side as bad so Republicans will always have an uphill battle, particularly in big city media bubbles.

You're only calling it crap because Trump's name is on it. That golf course was designed by the great Jack Nicklaus and it replaced what was a landfill in Throggs Neck. Considering that, it took in the most revenue than any other golf course around in its first few years of operation, despite a number of obstacles.

Didn't you know that was COVID's fault? That's de Blasio's excuse every time his shortcomings are mentioned about his inability to run this City.

Yes. It's always been the American Heartland keeping the Crazy Coasts from derailing the US.

And locally, for many years, Upstate NY kept the crazy NYC libs from derailing the city. Once the Dems took full control of the State Legislature a couple of years ago, look at how quickly things have unraveled in the city.

Yes! Once the Dems got their wish list NYS was finished. It takes roughly equal political parties to keep the worst impulses of both in check. One party control (R or D) usually produces bad results. IMHO, of course.

Trump Claims Bronx Golf Course Business Boomed After Jan. 6 Insurrection

https://www.thecity.nyc/bronx/2021/1...6-insurrection

Business at The Bronx golf course run by former President Donald Trump’s company has “thrived” since the Jan. 6 insurrection, according to his lawyers, who say the links have reaped a record $8 million so far this year.

The claim came in court papers filed on Wednesday as The Trump Organization fights Mayor Bill de Blasio’s bid to oust the firm as the operator of the Trump Links at Ferry Point.

De Blasio moved in the days after the revolt at the U.S. Capitol to void all of Trump’s contracts with the city, charging the then-president incited the unprecedented attack on U.S. democracy.

But lawyers for the only president to be impeached twice called for a judge to issue a stay in the selection of a new operator for the public golf course — arguing that contrary to the city’s contentions, the Jan. 6 insurrection didn’t keep customers away.

‘Rushed’ Trump Golf Course Succession Passes City Board With Dissents

https://www.thecity.nyc/bronx/2021/1...-with-dissents

A city panel approved a new operator Wednesday to take over a Bronx public golf course run by ex-President Donald Trump’s company — but two members cast “no” votes, citing concerns about what one called a “rushed” process.

Also objecting: a lawyer for Trump, who told the board that the course’s designer, golf legend Jack Nicklaus, ultimately gets to decide which firm meets his exacting standards.

THE CITY broke news of the new no-bid deal last month and the Parks Department’s unusual choice of concessionaire: a homeless shelter operator with a blemished record.

Mayor Bill de Blasio ordered Trump’s concession to run the Ferry Point Park golf course canceled as a result of Trump’s role in fanning the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

An Atlanta company, Bobby Jones Links, is now entitled to take over starting Nov. 15, after shelter operator CORE Services Group pulled out of their partnership under scrutiny. Members of the city’s Franchise and Concession Review Committee voted 4 to 2 to grant Affiniti Ferry Point LLC a 13-year contract to operate the 18-hole golf course.

The former president told the Daily News this week in an email that the mayor wanted to “CONFISCATE the project from me for no reason whatsoever, and terminate my long-term arrangement with the city. De Blasio wants to take it away after all of the work was so successfully done, and so much money was spent.”

Trump Vows to Stay Put After de Blasio’s Bronx Golf Course Eviction Deadline

https://www.thecity.nyc/bronx/2021/1...ourse-eviction

A lawyer for Donald Trump told a judge Monday that the ex-president’s firm might not budge from the city-owned Bronx golf course it runs, despite Mayor Bill de Blasio’s orders to scram by Nov. 14.

Attorney Kenneth Caruso declared the Trump Organization has a right to keep operating the 18-hole Ferry Point Park golf course whether it wins or loses its lawsuit against the city, since Trump could appeal a defeat to a higher court.

Trump Ferry Point LLC sued the city in June, after de Blasio ordered Trump’s concession to run the public golf course canceled, citing the then-president’s role in fanning the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in Washington.

Caruso wrote Manhattan State Supreme Court Justice Debra A. James, urging an immediate halt to de Blasio’s termination of its 20-year contract to operate the Jack Nicklaus-designed, tournament-quality course.

Robert Funkhouser, an attorney for the city, fired back that Trump isn’t entitled to a pause — specifically because the firm stands to get a payout under a deal with the city Department of Parks and Recreation should he court nix de Blasio’s attempt to cancel the ex-president’s deal for cause...
