It's gonna be like Brooklyn from 1995 to 2015, this time around it will just happen faster
Everything will more than double in 25 years simply due to inflation.

$1 in 1996, buys $1.74 in today's USD just due to inflation and the preceding 25 years was a period of relatively very low inflation.

Anyone buying in the South Bronx now isn't buying at a discount. They're buying at a premium.

There are better values to be had than the South Bronx. I'd rather buy in Stamford, CT. You buy in the Bronx then you will also get all the Bronx's problems which no one here has mentioned - includes toxic dump sites.

They are spacious, with high ceilings, and gorgeous views to all of Manhattan, parts of New Jersey and Queens. The apartments are actually very therapeutic.

Has your friend had any personal safety/security issues?

People have been saying the last 15 years the Bronx is changing....as someone who lives there. In still waiting.

The Bronx is full of perpetually angry people who think they have something to prove by being hard and tough. Not all of them of course - especially those who live in civilized areas like Riverdale, Woodlawn, or even arguably Pelham Bay. That and the constant victim olympics whining about how poor and oppressed they are.

Well, guess what? Asians are poor too and live in bad neighborhoods like Chinatown making poverty level wages and subsisting on government welfare. We don't go around thugging it up.

No thanks to the Bronx.

PS It's not a racial thing - the Bronx has been trying to prove its tough guy image since the 1900s. And you also see the same ghetto, violence trash mob mentality among ethnic whites like Albanians today.

No, not at all. But then again, he's a guy - not a single woman.
