Believe me when I tell you stuff like this just never happened back in the day. I swear some people on SI have lost their GD minds.

Homes in that area are close together so those rats are moving between properties quite easily.

It's the poor SOB who just bought a few years ago not knowing what was going on next door you feel sorry about. Suppose he could have made some phone calls and or asked around, but how do you find out about something like this?

Bloody awful. Would the situation have lasted that long if a regular joe like a Di Blasio family member lived next door?

Silver Lake Road is a nice area with some great properties. Closer you get to Duer Lane we're talking older Victorian or mansion sizes.

Nice close old school area of North Shore, sad to hear this sort of thing happening. Hope they can get the rat thing under control before it spreads to other properties.

Yeah. I remember an episode of “Hoarders” of a guy in a small California desert
Town who had started raising rats like that in his house and industrial garage. He had something like thirty thousand rats. The images were some of the creepiest I’ve ever seen. The floor seemed like a moving carpet. Whahhh!

That's it. We gave Staten Island a chance. Burn it to the ground.

A pellet gun and a Jack Russell terrier would make a good solution for that neighbor.

Pet rats or street rats?

Rats is better than cat/dog hoarding.

I never saw a rat in person until I started working in Brooklyn at 24 years old. I even remember it, one of the train stations on 4th Avenue.
