Geesh.. Workied the projects in Brooklyn in the 70's.
Prospect Plaza Rockaway ave and Eastern Parkway.
There was a pizza place nearby. $1.00 for 2 slices and a
fountain coke. Owner was Italian , the pizza was good.

Haven't seen dollar slices since the late 80's. Consider yourselves lucky.
Now they are hovering $4.00 a slice.

Quiet honestly much of what's sold as pizza today (pie or slice) isn't worth one dollar, much less two or more.

It's all largely rubbish made by cheap labor (illegal immigrants often) with lowest bottom shelf canned sauce, one step up from government cheese, dough made who knows where from God only knows what, and various ready made ingredients.

If you know where to look decent slices or pies can be found. Otherwise you're better off just getting DiGornios or something.

Pizza was a quarter a slice when I was a teenager. And a pack of cigarettes 45 cents.

Prices go up, kids. Get used to it.
