There has been 3 infrastructure bills in the past and the BQE has been through all 3 and not been fixed. The Verrazano bridge was in one of them and supposed to be pay tolls until the budget has been paid off and the tolls are even more expensive now and have not stopped. There was never supposed to be a toll connecting any of the boros.

So I believe this infra bill was nothing more than a huge tax bill.

Does anyone actually believe that significant new infrastructure will get built in NYC? Just to name a few barriers to anything getting done: permitting processes, union negotiations, environmental studies, community groups, local politicians, shortage of skilled labor, zoning regulations. The Second Avenue subway line is a good case study.

There are a lot of things wrong with how capital construction is done in NYC. Pinning it to mostly to just stealing and corruption is idiotic and counterproductive and saying that does not mean that there isn't stealing or corruption.
You even hit all of the talking points.

Everything is "SO COMPLEX" that mere mortals cannot fathom how difficult everything is....

Public infrastructure is competently run in NYC but mere mortals cannot understand because of the sheer COMPLEXITY of the job at hand.

It's mostly stealing, corruption, and incompetence (bred of political corruption and graft).

You can pretend otherwise because you probably work in the sector and it makes you feel better rather than facing the truth that the entire system is rotten, including most of the people that are part of it.

Everything is soooo complexxxx. When there,s corruption and theft involved, there is an incentive to complicate things in order to obfuscate.

Did anyone say any of this? How are you so bad at basic reading comprehension? You even got pretend talking points to rail against, good on you. There's complexity, but complexity by itself is not *why* NYC and the US does so poorly with capital construction projects in comparison to those of many other developed countries where the projects are also similarly complex. What did you think you're responding to? Again, you can't even accurately characterize what's being said, so what is the point in responding? It's idiotic.

So please explain to us why NYC is PARTICULARLY terrible when it comes to large infrastructure projects if you don't think it's the complexity nor the corruption/waste?

What other excuses are left?

I like how some are pretending this is still a functional city and not a corrupt hellhole where 90 cents on the dollar of this money will be utterly wasted with nothing to show for it.

The issue in NYC isn't about money. There's plenty of money. If.it takes months to repave a road, are there really idiots who believe that entire roadways will be torn down and rebuilt in any meaningful way?
This is the truth sadly
