I'm having a repeat endoscopy and they require someone meet me afterwards and walk me out. The whole thing is very silly but they require it. I had a friend meet me last time but she has to work and I don't really like imposing on people who would have to take off work to do so.

Is there a way to hire someone for like $50 to meet me after my procedure? It would literally take like 15 minutes.

I haven't used these services but try Thumbtack and Taskrabbit

https://www.taskrabbit.com/

https://www.thumbtack.com/

Also if you're local, join the nextdoor app and maybe you can find someone in your neighborhood without the markup of the taskrabbit or thumbtack sites.

Try googling ”medical chaperone.” I think there are a couple of services.

You might need to have that person drive you home, depending on where you are. Just a heads up.

Not in this case. It's a repeat procedure at the same place and last time they barely even took note of me and my friend as we walked out.

Gotta Love it.
Accompanying my friend for a Colonoscopy.
He gets a letter in the mail that the person accompanying must show proof of being Covid Free.

Another option is PRC testing which requires to take test 72 hours prior
to your procedure but results ridiculously take 72 hours to get? Whhaaaaaaaat? I call that Useless.

Only choice is Walk into a government run 24 hour emergency clinic where rapid testing is free or
a private 24 hour facility.......which will cost around $180 bucks for someone to stick two swabs up your nose
if not covered by your insurance and receive a confirmation letter to present to the admin saying you are O.K.

Time to buy stocks in Medical...................

If you have the colonoscopy without an anesthetic (like Propofol) or Versed ( a sedative) you can drive home. I usually don't take anything for the procedure but the last time I had a colonoscopy it really hurt. There are certain bends in the colon where it's difficult to pass a colonoscope.

On the other hand, you can watch the procedure on the monitor and see the insides of your gut.

Would recommend only a general anesthetic ( knocked out ).
Anything less is comparable to being skewered and dropped onto a hot barbecue.
