Ex-con who once tried to kill NYPD cop is freed without bail after another alleged attack on officer

An ex-con who once tried to kill a Queens cop was arrested this week for randomly attacking another NYPD officer — only to be freed without bail, authorities and police sources said Monday.

Accused repeat cop-attacker Isus Thompson, 38, could have been forced to cough up bail before being released from custody after his latest alleged assault on an officer.

But a judge instead cut him loose after Bronx prosecutors failed to seek bail in the case — prompting an angry response from NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea in a tweet Monday.

“Do we have to wait for [Thompson] to kill someone before this is taken seriously?” the disgusted top cop seethed.

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office did not respond to The Post when asked why its prosecutors sought only supervised release, a condition that means the suspect is just required to periodically check in with the court.

So this dude continues to try and kill police, gets arrested, and Bronx Prosecutors say "let him go"...

These prosecutors are on the wrong side of the law. You get what your vote for.

If the city can not get its criminals under control I can only imagine it inviting
more Paul Kerseys and Harry Callahans to fill the much needed void of policing.

It’s Bronx so who cares. Bronx has been an armpit of NY forever.

As I always say: any cop still actively working to fight crime in this city is a damned fool. Do the barest minimum possible, go home, retire the first day you possibly can.

A buddy of mine is a cop that's 10 years in. Had he known that the cowards that run this city would have rolled out the red carpet to criminals he would have stayed with his previous job. He couldnt even protect himself from this degenerate as he'd risk public outcry.
No one wins when animals like this are running loose. God help us as this city is in deep trouble.

True to an extent, but still the sign of the ultimate ****. Running into battle as the people you serve are chasing you with knives drawn.

The city needs to get a handle on these criminals, otherwise they're just asking for some Kyle Rittenhouses to come on in and take out the trash!
