You know how Bail Reform supporters say criminals are not just let back out to commit crimes again? (New York: violent crime, live)

In June 2020, Bloods gang member Alexis Dubouchet allegedly tried to kill Samuel Diaz, then his supervisor at the New York City Housing Authority. According to police, Dubouchet used a folding knife to stab Diaz in the back of his neck and twice in the head, yelling, “You wanna f- -k with my life?”
Although Dubouchet was a career criminal with 20 prior arrests and was charged with attempted murder in the attack on Diaz, he was freed on bail.
Now prosecutors say he murdered someone while awaiting trial in the Diaz case, allegedly shooting Anthony Rios, 38, in the head early on July 25.
Samuel Diaz is the son of Democratic City Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr. and the brother of Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
Ruben Diaz is furious that Dubouchet was allowed to go free after the attack on his son, and that another person is now dead. He blames fellow Democrats for passing lenient bail “reform” and writes for The Post that more Hispanic and black residents will vote against the Democrats unless they’re kept safe.

Bail reform and the corrupt Judges/DA and State lawmakers literally got someone killed because of their asinine laws. Yet this doesn't really make big news.
Good to see more and more democrats waking up to this nonsense. Wish more on this board did. It's ok to admit your party made a mistake, its a small step.
Things are going to slide, slide in all directions
Won't be nothing (won't be nothing)
Nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
Has crossed the threshold
And it's overturned
The order of the soul
When they said (they said) repent (repent), repent (repent)
I wonder what they meant
When they said (they said) repent (repent), repent (repent)
I wonder what they meant
When they said (they said) repent (repent), repent (repent)
I wonder what they meant
The only thing that kept NYC running all this time is Financial institutions and tourism. With those half way out the door, I see Detroit 2.0 in the near future.
Pretty quiet thread. Wonder where all our resident Leftists (and yes, you know and we know who you are) that were defending this law vehemently when it came out.
Those of us against it, had predicted exactly this happening but the Leftists as usual argued and argued.

Leftists only learn their mistakes when the results backfire on them in a personal way. Here, we see an avowed leftist - Hispanic, Democrat, Bronx: these credentials are about as leftist as you can get in NYC - is now turning into a tough on crime measure after his son was hospitalized and nearly killed. You can bet that if the perp just killed another random Hispanic victim then he would not care and be out on the street condemning the "racist NYPD."
What happened to that dude's neck? It's like a turtle.
Criminals taken in for violent crime shouldn't have an easy way out. Supposedly bail reform was to account for that, but it obviously did not in this case, so something needs to be amended or enforced here.
It's all over, small crimes to major felonies. You pretty much have to blow up a building or maybe drown a basket of kittens to remain locked up nowadays.
It's like the effing 1970's all over again. Eejits with rap sheets of 100 or more open cases (desk appearance tickets or whatever), and counting.
I'm sorry, but this is a silly non-argument. There will always be individual anecdotes to argue against any action. That we can all find a few against bail reform doesn't matter.

I am sorry that Ruben's son was attacked and feel worse that another
has died but Ruben Diaz is not the mouth piece for Hispanics and Blacks.
He may decide to switch parties for his own reasons but for the rest of New Yorkers?
I really doubt that....not as long as the Democrats are handing out FREE stuff.
It's all going to be about...
" As long as it's not me , now give me my food stamps! "

But yet when a few incidences of police killing a black thug occurs, you Leftists didn’t think it was a “silly non argument.”
Leftist hypocrisy as usual.
