If Adams is dumb as a rock, and I don't think he is. He would have to look at how de Blasio ran the city as a part-time Mayor. His aides were horrible, he hired the worst people. Adams could easily do that. Looking at his hires that obsessed over hiring a female minority, black person etc.. It becomes apparent that he isn't hiring the most qualified person. He may not even be hiring the most qualified minority. He is pandering. He should have learned from de Blasio that when you pander to minority groups you get what you pay for. When you look at Bloomberg's administration for 12 years he was able to recruit and hire people that knew what they were doing, and if they didn't they adapted and were quick to learn on the job. You rarely if ever heard about a Bloomberg staffer or Deputy Mayor causing controversy or being openly derelict in their duties.
Obviously, the juror is out on Adams as a Mayor and the people he hired. As we saw with his attempt to install his brother into a number 2 position of power in the NYPD it blew up fantastically in his face. Now we wait and see what happens to the rest. If Adams intends to run the city like a part-timer or a full-timer he should have taken a page from Bloomberg's playbook and not de Blasio. In fact, you should NEVER try to emulate anything that de Blasio ever did.
My feeling is that the Police Commissioner will be the first one to go within 12 to 18 months because DA Bragg has limited the NYPD with his directives and that will reflect squarely on her for not being able to rein crime in. Of course, that spotlight will be on Adams too, but Adams isn't going to fire himself or resign. He will fire the PC.
