A homeless man was arrested after he allegedly attacked a good Samaritan who gave him a coat in front of a building in Manhattan Wednesday, and that victim is speaking out to Eyewitness News....
A sympathetic Mayor Eric Adams said the victim did an "admirable" thing, but the mayor believes the homeless suspect is himself "in a painful place."
"When you see someone attack someone that helps them, that is a signal that people are in pain," he said. "And we need to alleviate if not irradiate that pain that people are experiencing."
Aw, Adams wants to help the homeless. Like that hasn’t been said and done before by deBlasio and endless others. Yup, Adams will succeed where everyone else failed. You betcha!
I can't laugh, as this good samaritan was trying to do something commendable, but this is certainly another example of why enabling the current situation in NYC is doing no one any favors.
Adams said that this was an example of people in pain. OK, so how is he going to get rid of the "pain?" Who is in more pain now, the guy who got someone's coat for free or the guy who got beaten up and robbed for giving it?
Screw being in "pain". Dude has serious mental issues, and the city needs a way to deal with people like this. He has two arrests for this year already for punching people. Now this is his third. And what he's back out on the streets probably already.
It is not pain. It is crazy. It is high as a kite.
Most homeless are mentally impaired, either permanently from mental illness, or temporarily and repeatedly being high on drugs.
Why would you approach a ticking time bomb? I avoid the mentally ill addicts on the street like the plague. The closest I get is tossing a bag of McDonalds fast food their way from the cracked open window of my car.
Chirlane deBlasio spent over $1B of taxpayer money on helping the mentally ill. Look how well that money was spent!
No doubt Democrat Adams will continue to throw money at the problem (because that is the only way Democrats know how to solve every problem) and no doubt it will finally solve the problem.

I know. What an asinine thing to say. Is he going to say the exact same thing about yet another deranged person who pushed a woman onto the tracks to her death just this morning in a Times Sq platform? Man, I wished Garcia won the primary. Adams is de Blasio version 2.

90% of that was spent on helping their friends with fake jobs and phony non-profits.
