More and more experts agree that Omicron should be the last.
I hope someone has told the viruses that. And I hope Covid is OBEDIENT.

According to Fauci, we are still in the first of 5 phases. If anything, we are going into phase 2 according to his model if this latest variant is a sign of the tide turning.

Going forward it will be more of a flu with yearly flu like death numbers.
Easy Peasy:
1918-1919:
Suspected cases‡ 500 million (estimated)[2], some estimates >1 Billion
Deaths 25–50 million (generally accepted), other estimates range from 17 to 100 million <making it one of the deadliest pandemics in human history.>

1957-1958 (Asian FLu)
Deaths: 1-4 MILLION

1968-1969 (Hong Kong Flu)
Deaths: 1-4 MILLION

Maybe we don't want Covid to become "just like the flu?"

I suppose that ideally we wouldn't want it to exist at all. Perhaps rendering to become "just like the flu" is an attainable goal before focusing on full eradication of the virus?

Just like we eradicated Influenza, right? <This is SARCASM (for the sarcastically impaired.)>

I'm not sure about that, but it is pretty smart.

Remember the good old days when it knew if you were out after 11pm, weather you were in a bar or a grocery store. It could tell if you were essential or not. Pretty amazing virus.

Once things settle down, the death rate from vaccinated Covid deaths will be just about equal to the vaccinated Influenza (A & B) death rates. Pretty much a fact, already. Just what I predicted 2 years ago amongst my friends.

Death rates in the U.S. are increasing at an INCREASING RATE, each 100,000 deaths is coming faster than the last. So, you lied to your friends...not very nice.
