I wanted to have hope for him. But I agree,..so far,..meh...but I do agree it is still early.
Let's see how much he gets pushed around before he either bends over or actually takes a stand.
Hiring his brother for deputy police commissioner is sketchy too. Nepotism should be frowned up. We all saw how the last President got sh*& for that.
Just makes it look like he is out for himself than the law abiding peaceful citizens.
There should be a plan for addressing the root causes as well as a plan to TAKE ACTION when a specific person is menacing others and living in the train system. The person who ended up murdering that poor woman had a history of menacing in that very station.
So some plan to address homelessness or mental illness in general is fine, and warranted. But that's not the same as addressing violent, criminal and antisocial behavior that exists.
And in this case, a woman was just violently murdered, so saying, oh we lost a New Yorker, but looky here at all the other good stuff we're doing... just doesn't cut it.
Imagine if it was your mom, sister, girlfriend who got killed and the mayor went up there and said, How terrible we lost her but hey, never mind that--- look at our great programs to combat homelessness. "How would you feel?
While this might be still early to call, his acts and responses so far reveal him being a weak and woke mayor surrounded with a bunch of clueless officers that NYC will be stuck with for another 4 miserable years...you all take care and watch your back when you are out and about...
What were your expectation?
I did not think you voted for Adams or were hopeful in any way.
This seems like a self fulfilling prophesy on your part.
Better luck in the next election.
Talk is cheap. Politician talk is even cheaper. I prefer to observe their policies. So far, I have not seen a single policy change from the Adams administration. He's looking like de Blasio 2.0, but he talks a better game.
Funny how every time people vote democrat, they regret it when its too late! And then 4 years later they make the same mistake again and cry about it, Then do it again and again.
Definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result
It's still early. Give it some time (and a fair chance) before writing him off. At the 6 month mark we should see some progress of he's making any. At the year mark, you could definitively say either way.
