Add this to the OP as to why Adams is a disappointment.

Running on a "woke" platform is a losing proposition...that being said, he's had a rough month....I never thought that he was going to handle the crime problem because strategically it's impossible given the promises and the activist ticket that he ran on...

So far we've had 4 cops shot in a month (with 2 fatalities) ....homeless people shoving people all over the tracks (another guy was shoved on Fulton St this morning)...and his record of hires/appointees have been extremely unethical/questionable

I will give him a sliver of credit for standing up against that idea that immigrant voting rights law that was put into place

But answer the question.

Eric Adams was sworn in January 1.

He hadn't been on office even a month, yet you were already so "disappointed" that you were declaring we were in for "4 miserable years" (which I certainly think means you're already considering him a failure).

So when did you decide this? After two weeks? After two days? Or had you already made up your mind even before he took office?

Give him a chance, he's been in office for less than a month.

This is a positive start.

New York's response to violent incidents will include reinstating plainclothes officer unit, mayor says

Controversial #NYPD anti-crime plainclothes street unit is coming back. But @NYCMayor says they'll wear body cameras, consequences for officers who turn them off, more identifiable so subjects don't think they're being jumped.

Unit was dismantled in 2020 after years of criticism from civil rights advocates who argued too many innocent people of color were targeted. More on @NYCMayor ’s Blueprint for Safety coming up at 5pm on @ABC7NY

@NYCMayor says he agrees with @JumaaneWilliams call for update to #NYPD residency requirement. Officers should be required to live in communities they serve. Here's how the mayor answered my question.

It's early in his administration, but his election theme was to portray himself as an unusual breed: a law-and-order Democrat. This was why he was elected.

Given that, why did he not have a crime policy thought out and announced well before he took office? And enacted on day ONE. He was in pure reaction mode after several cops were shot or killed, a Burger King worker murdered by a recidivist criminal, and random people pushed onto the subway tracks including one woman pushed to her death.

He didn't hit the ground running, that's for sure.

Beautifully summarized with highlights explaining why he is a disastrous disappointment so far...Got it yet, Cida??

crime is getting worse under him compared to De Blasio (the best-known worst mayor in NYC history)...go figure, Cida...

How is crime getting worse under Mayor Adams compared to De Blasio? You've been living under a rock during De Blasios terms?

It's been less than a month. Do you expect things to change overnight? Not everyone has the ability to turn around a dumpster fire overnight.

Too early to call, a full term is 4 years, give it at least two years.

Right now he is torn between the conservative in him and pleasing the woke fringe of his voters.

He will either give up and be an ineffective mayor to resolve the mess DeBlasio created, or will have no other choice but to resort to harsher tactics.

He is bringing back the plainclothes anti-crime unit DeBozo disbanded after the zealous deranged cop murdered the crackhead who then became a national hero a thousand miles away from our city (statement from today) and is slowly but surely deploying more cops in the subway.

Give it at least two years, if NYC has to be fixed it cannot happen in three weeks after 8 years of neo-Marxist insanity.

Here is a man stealing from Rite Aid and security does nothing. It’s open season for criminals.
Running as a democrat “with conservative principles” no longer cuts it.
