1.21.22 / Story by Adam / HARLEM, Manhattan (LLNNYC) - Two NYPD police officers were fatally shot. It happened at 6 pm Friday at West 135th St & Adam Clayton Powell Blvd near Harlem Hospital. Officers responded to a domestic violence job regarding a mother & son dispute in an apartment at 119 West 135th St. The gunman was in back room when officers engaged him. That is when the gunman opened fire, shooting both officers, one of them, in the face. A third officer returned fire, killing the gunman. The officers were rushed to Harlem Hospital with police cars where they were pronounced deceased. One of the officers killed has only been with the NYPD for over a year.Four officers were shot in the last 72 hours. The other two taking place in the Bronx involving a teenage gunman and Staten island regarding a drug bust. (Sources: NYPD, ABC7, NBC4, New York Post)
