The country is collapsing. You could argue that the west in general is, too. We just happen to have front row seats along with a few other deep blue s-holes.
It is, but not as bad as NYC. Other areas are adopting, and some even thriving (see Texas and Florida), during these times.
And naturally the Leftists were the ones arguing for the shutdowns, then the mandates.
Amazing how this group always advocate for everything that is wrong and yet they still think they are correct.
Bingo.
We're not even seeing the ramifications of the shutdowns yet. Wait until 2025, after another round or two of new variant panic and lockdowns and attempted mandates, with broadway continuing to stop and go, things are just beginning to get dicey.
They have no clue what they're doing and the impact it's going to have.
I think eventually all drug stores in NYC will shut down. I went to a Rite Aid near me for a product (a vitamin supplement) that I normally get for $20 at Amazon or even cheaper if I buy in volume at Costco and they have the same item priced at $32.
Maybe it's to recoup the cost of shoplifting or to pay the brick and mortar expeneses or whatever, but no matter what the reason, I'm not paying $32 for an item I can order from my phone and have in my hand the following day or two days later for $20.
Lmao. It wasn't so long ago that people were complaining about Starbucks and Duane Reade appearing on every corner. Now these same people are complaining about them leaving. The only ones who are truly suffering are the greedy commercial landlords who were betting on a big tenant who could afford $60k/month rent. Now they are bagholding just like their storefronts would be an underwater stock.

Good point however I don’t think the sentiment here is necessarily sorry for Rite Aid but rather the cause of these stores closing.
