Awhile ago, many community boards and other neighborhood groups made such a big stink about bars and restaurants serving alcohol that they got the city and state to crack down on alcohol licenses.
That robbed many formerly vibrant areas of nightlife. Now that NYC is full of lifeless neighborhoods and dying businesses, they are okay with alcohol once again, even theaters.
We went from cracking down on crime to condoning crime and soon probably back to cracking down again. Why dumb NY’ers subject themselves to these ups and downs? It’s like they have no memory and never learn anything.
We'll have to see how this works out for movie theaters but I think it will backfire on them. Why even go to a movie theater anymore when you can buy a large HDTV and watch movies in the comfort of your own home?
Ah, just what Linden Blvd Multiplex needs. Good luck with that.
They're probably not going to do this at that location. The crowd that drinks Thunderbird, malt liquor, and Irish Rose are too poor to go to the theatres. Instead they are probably in the alley passed out with flies buzzing over their heads.
City needs to start from scratch. Completely rebuild from nothing.
