We received an email this morning explaining that once this is confirmed to affect the whole state, the New York Diocese will let individual schools decide for themselves, at which time my girls' school will immediately get rid of them! Finally!!!

I guess Gov Air Head will appeal to the NY Court of Appeals. The highest court in NY. Because NY had to be difficult and name their second highest court Supreme.

Nothing will change for me. My job will still require them and I will continue wearing one on the subway because people are nasty. My daily walks I wear one when it's super cold. And not when I don't need the warmth on my face.

Mask wearing, like anything else, should be a personal choice. My son wears a mask every day in school and it didn't prevent him from getting COVID.

mask are useless. Always have been useless. Its n95 or wear a full on chemical gas mask for full protection.

Hochul appealing is stupid. Follow what your voters really want. Keep in mind the NJ Gov was almost voted out

January 2020 I was in Flushing and if I had to guess, 7 out of 10 people on the street were wearing masks. Mostly the blue surgical ones. Guess they didn't know what they were doing. I know during this whole pandemic, I don't even think I saw a news article about Flushing.

AFAIK, this only effects the state level mandate imposed by the governor. Is there anything at the city level, and would that be effected?

The quicker masks go away and made to be abnormal again, the quicker crime will take a hit. Anonymity due to masks is a huge proponent, among other things, in the recent crime surge.

Nah people are committing crimes left and right without masks on. Can't blame masks on the crime.
Also what is this be normal again. My life is very much full and busy like pre covid.

1) A lot of Chinese people wear masks already in Asia (especially mainland China due to pollution) so it's culturally acceptable.

2) Talk of a new Coronavirus was already spreading amongst the Chinese community so they were proactively wearing masks.

3) Asia had experience with SARS and other pandemics so Asians (especially Chinese) are more aware of the effects of it and how masks help stop the spread of it.
