Honestly I'm ok paying my current amount which is around 7100 per year. I just don't feel like we get the services we deserve for what we pay. Go to some of our parks and theyre disgusting, overgrown weeds everywhere. Our streets are filthy. Safety is def a fair discussion, I think we could be doing a better job. Our schools performance is not great.

The city is great at spending money inefficiently.

That's fair too.

You made me think of something however - I've worked since I was a teenager. I wish we had a breakdown of how our NYC income tax is distributed. It's only one line on our stub. Ditto for paying property tax.

U live in Staten, right? And you don't think you get fair services for your taxes worth, being that its the most "suburban" of the 5 boroughs? Thats interesting. If anything I would have thought that the services most SIers receive were adequate.

$800 -$1MM but really that's besides the point. The city is raping new build buyers. $10K for 700sq ft. Think about that.

Are these on the market right now? If so, can you provide a link? I want to see.

You should be complaining about 700sq ft. costing $1,000,000. A new million dollar house in Queens would pay about $10k in property taxes (assuming it is not getting special treatment like Bill de Blasio’s homes.) Property taxes are based on the value of the property, not the size of the home (although that may affect the value).
