I was told New Yorkers ignore tents and don't do anything about them. Or is that just in Manhattan?

They aren't really a thing here and when they are set up, usually out of the way. Even so, the NYPD tends to move in and clear them out.

There's another tent encampment in elmhurt that has been around, 1 block off Broadway, across from the Walgreens.

I wonder if less educated Asians in that area will change their minds on who is "trouble" now.

There area practically no poor Blacks in that area, primarily Hispanic from Central America or Mexico with Caribbean here and there.

And I never thought there would churros ladies selling fruit to cars coming off the LIE exit ramp where I live in the Northshore of LI. Thank you Democrats. But at least they are working.

You'd be surprised. Flushing has been getting a great number of homeless people lately (in the past year or so) and drug addicts taking over parks that were previously filled with families with children and senior citizens. I've seen them walking slowly, stooped over and passed out in front of the YMCA (which I think has become a homeless shelter) selling drugs (cops have been parked near the parks, at the Y and in front of Flushing HS at times) or sitting down in storefront stoops yelling and harassing people walking by. In a word, acting crazy. And in the wee hours of the morning, walking on Roosevelt, Union and Main St. you see people passed out here & there on the pavement resembling the photos you see of the Bowery in the 70's like some kind of weird parade.

It wasn't always like that.

And for awhile there were tents set up near the entrances of the Main St. subway station and in front of Macy's. I kid you not. It kept getting bigger & bigger with more homeless people moving in and getting into fights until the cops finally moved in (I'm guessing because one day they were all there and then suddenly it was cleared out).

I don't know why they're coming to Flushing. In the past, there were a few homeless people (all Asian) but this new group of homeless people are a motley crew & not Asian. And they don't aggressively panhandle (they mainly keep to themselves) but will take "donations". I see them accepting food and such from good hearted passerby's.

Somebody has to be buying the churros, otherwise they wouldn't be there

Another middle-class neighborhood being sullied by deBlasio's woke homeless agenda. Adams needs to get these tents removed asap. Shouldn't be a problem for him, very few crackers in Elmhurst. LOL!
