People may not be "intelligent" but we as humans have evolved to make connections between event A and event B (or a series of multiple events). It's a core component of why humans have evolved to be at the top of the food chan. For example, rain and foliage are two separate events to all other creatures. As humans we understand that rain and foliage are correlated. Therefore, if we can manipulate either input, we can create the desired outcome.

Same goes for the welfare sate, voters, D's, and R's. While the GOP'ers in NE states may not/cannot be as conservative as in the rest of the country, voters know that more Democrats = more welfare and more GOP'ers doesn't equal to as much welfare (or the types of welfare they want/need). It's like offering someone a few million dollars with the caveat that their odds of being struck by lightning will increase from 1 in 500,000 to in 450,000. Virtually everyone would take the money.

Millions of residents in NYC are hooked on welfare. As in, their lives would be severely disrupted if we started to shrink the welfare state. They'll take more crime as long as the welfare keeps coming because welfare is something that's guaranteed and crime may or may not happen to them. On the other hand, many are terrified of a life without welfare. They can't imagine fending for themselves.

The Democrats platform in NYC has literally become about the maintenance and enlargement of the welfare state. This has been obvious for a decade plus now.

many Asian Democrats still talk about “helping” and being “humanitarian” with these perps.

And rich Asian Republicans talk only about TAX CUTS.

Not that I disagree with them, but who are these rich Asian Republicans you speak of?

Last I checked, high taxes are not a good thing so between tax cuts versus helping perps, I think anyone not Leftist insane can see which one is the better choice.

Starting pointless wars would be an obvious one. Or just about everything Bush did and general later day Capitalism which is all geared to the 1%.

I don't care for the Democrats either, especially when it comes to running cities.

Starting wars is not a policy. Examples of GOP policies are gun rights, lowering taxes, pro-life (anti-abortion), strong military, smaller government/less regulations, etc.
