And that's why hostile architecture exists. Any nice public square (or scaffolding, awnings) runs the chance of it being overrun by homeless encampments. Pity all the way around.

The city in 2014 created two public “plazas” beneath the 7 train: one at 40th Street and the main location at 46th Street known as Bliss Plaza.

As the weather is warming up, Sunnyside Shines Executive Director Dirk McCall’s plan to “reactivate” Bliss Plaza has been slowed by around a half dozen unhoused individuals who have occupied the public space for nearly a year with large piles of their possessions taking up much of the area...

With the amount of real estate church owns, its funny how they wont help out their sick.

A friend lives up in the East 60s. Here apartment building has a 'privately owned public space' in front. Tenants and neighborhood people used to sit there and enjoy the space. Over the last 5 years that space was taken over by the homeless who literally moved in with tons of their crap. The landlord can't get rid of them unless they harm a tenant or a visitor. Out of control situation.

Instead of Bliss Plaza, maybe they can house the homeless in Bliss Park.

Without going to the Internet, how many know where that is? If you do, you're an old time Brooklynite!
