Allowing the MTA to get out of the $499 million financial hole they found themselves in; prompting Hochul to pressure the MTA not to raise fare hikes. I'm for that. Not that people are paying. Still see people hop over the turnstiles like there's no tomorrow.
Use some of that money to actually start clearing out the swelling numbers of homeless people and mentally ill. They've become such a nuisance and danger to the people who actually behave and keep the system running.
Eventually they're going to have to decide whether they want to make it a safe system to use, or they want to keep catering to a loud minority who say the homeless can't be touched. They need to keep their paying customers happy, or they're going to die a death of a thousand cuts. If they let the homeless run wild like they've been doing, they're done for.
I'm a 6', 30 year old man who has never feared taking the subway at all hours of the day and night, but it's getting so bad now that even I hesitate.
LOL didn't know that. One more reason not to ride it.
They need to do away with these peak fares. They are obviously not equitable, as they have a negative impact on certain people who have no choice but to ride peak.
don't forget more bogus MTA OT bucks and more nap break at the man cave with full kitchen/bar
I forgot about the phantom employees who were working on major projects.
