Listening to NY1, he's not a disgruntled ex-employee but a member. He was barred from entering but he jumped the turnstile before stabbing the two employees who are expected to recover. So, that's good. He's still at large but they know who he is so it's just a matter of time before they arrest him.
They said his membership was revoked the day prior due to other incidents with this man. The fact that the suspect is older gentleman (approx. 60 from what I understood) means that he must mentally impaired at this point.
Looking at the film fooage, what's interesting to me is that a guy who appeared to be a security guard brandished a firearm and told the perpetrator to leave, but he didn't fire it.

Just so obvious to me... the cops are "not trying hard" and turning NYC into a disaster to get back at the "defund the police" crowd.
I hope you’re right!
But as I’ve said a million times: “defund” means nothing to cops already on the job. It’s the “prosecute cops, not perps” politicians who rule NY that they are reacting to.

What a ridiculous comment. The cops are catching most of these perps very quickly. The fact that the perps are being released over and over has to do with bail reform and the "woke" politicians.
I don't see a firearm; I see a walkie talkie or a radio.
I looked again, I think you're right!
