This thing many New Yorkers have about indoor temps during winter always being hot enough so they can run around butt naked indoors is silly. Largely stems from fact city is mostly renters (and regulated or subsidized at that), thus often insulated from true costs of heating. Those who have to write a check each month for oil, gas, or electric used for heating often have a different story to tell.

Is it summer yet?
Get a NYCHA apartment, you'll most certainly be living in oven like conditions throughout heating season.

We have heat, and had it all night, but this intense cold is too much for the system. I am cold at 69F. <Ideal for me is 72 to 74 degrees.> I hope this is the last frigid day of the season.
