She was violated. She wanted to fight back. It's a lot easier to get over if you can take the power back.

There are some weird neighborhood town names in the NYC metro area:

Flushing, Ozone Park, Rego Park, Hicksville, Locust Valley, Great Kills etc.

To the OP, Forest Hills is your best bet het. For Brooklyn, I would say Midwood for the value and slightly closer train connectivity to Manhattan than say Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights.

I think you have done your research well and calling FH the most underrated neighborhood is spot on. Not to mention the diversity of housing types, retail and a generally safe vibe are all pluses for Forest Hills.

Good luck with the decision!

Astoria, Middle Village, Greenpoint, and Ridgewood are my suggestions.

Grew up in FH. ITs ok.
Lived in Midwood for a year. Its a dump. Bore all around until you go north.

Unless you are Orthodox Jewish you will not fit in in Midwood and the stores are closed on Saturdays.

there's some nude yoga bdsm techno clubs with kombucha on tap where only transplants are allowed to enter that are really close to Ridgewood though. Ridgewood is OFF THE LIST and my family will never step foot there ever again. I order Morscher's delivered now due to this very sad fact of how the neighborhood is declining.

As a native NYer, I'm thinking Kew Gardens, Lefferts Blvd/Metropolitan Ave has real possibilities but I can't move till August and rents may sky rocket by then. They're almost reasonable right now.

Roosevelt Island is a Manhattan jurisdiction, even though it’s not physically part of Manhattan, obviously. It’s a lovely place last time I was there (been a few years now), but it is pricey. In part, I guess because many UN personnel live there and also now because of the research/university outfit pushing up demand.

True.

I don't know how Dyker Heights or Ditmas Park are now, but I always liked them.

Sunnyside and Greenpoint are great!
