If you're not terrible with money there is zero reason to use a debit card instead of a credit card and plenty of reasons not to.

Thats exactly the problem. It makes it easier to be terrible with money. People start with a small splurge and it snowballs from there. 68% of Americans have less then $500 in savings. But they have cell phones that cost 2X that. Seen this story dozens of times.

Walking out and about area one night this week noticed Citizens Bank posted notices at some branches stating ATM lobby is closed between 10PM and 6AM. Can only assume this is to deal with eejits camping out in those places overnight.

Makes sense really, instead of playing cat and mouse where security (if they do patrols), throws bums out, only to have them come right back when coast is clear, just shut the place down overnight period. Certainly is also cheaper than putting a rent-a-cop security in locations.

Slowly but surely homeless, druggies and other eejits are killing off NYC being a 24/7 place. Only way places that are public accommodations can truly keep such persons from loitering or trespassing is by shutting down.
