That is the billion dollar question but! With the sidewalks crowded with people on bikes, motorized bikes and those zip-zip things (I don't know what you call them), it's been dangerous for pedestrians and everyone concerned.
More money pissed down the toilet. No wonder why this country is in so much debt.
The city need to stop wasting millions of dollars on inane bike lanes and invest more into pedestrian space, particularly for Manhattan and the gentrified Brooklyn neighborhoods. How often do you see people walking into the side of the streets due to the sidewalks being too crowded.
Where is the money for milling and paving?!? Streets look like a war zone.
Ha I was dying to post something to this effect.
They ripped up the streets all around my ex’s house over a week ago now. Of course nothing has been done since. The multiple-month process from grinding to final painting in NYC was one of the reasons I was excited to move. The major street by my house was ripped up, paved and painted over a weekend last spring. It was such a breath of fresh air for this former NY’er to see that!

Really ridiculous. Seems like someone is in this administration's pocket to add tons of protected bike lanes at the expense of getting basic milling and paving.
At what point do the masses see all these useless projects for the money stealing opportunity that they are? They aren't fixing, widening or improving the road besides putting some poles and paint on the street for these bike zones. Why do they even need $1 billion much less $3billion for such a project?
It is sad to see that our children and grandchildren will get stuck flicking the bill
for the wasteful spending perpetuated by the 2020 Democratic Party
and it's commander and thief.
