On Monday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that the city would be paying to run ads in Florida encouraging residents there who are unhappy with what Democrats (and the media) have dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” law (it’s actually called the Parental Rights in Education” law and the word “gay” appears nowhere in the legislation) to move to New York.
The NYC mayor’s office encouraged Floridians to “come to the city where you can say whatever you want”:

The Big Apple mom who crashed Mayor Eric Adams’ press conference Monday to blast him over his tot mask mandate was fired shortly afterward from her job at the city Law Department, The Post has learned
People are more concerned about their kids wearing a mask in school over the rampant shootings and surging crime? What is wrong with people?
Nothing is wrong with these people. They are trying to eliminate small nuisances that impinge on their daily lives.
Struggling to keep a mask on a toddler affects you every day for every hour. If your child won't keep the mask on properly, they are excluded from group child care facilities. If your child can't stay at child care, you can't go to work. That is a major problem for almost every mother/father with a toddler. Every day that's a problem.
Subway crime and gang retaliations probably doesn't affect most people.
Changing the rules on toddler masking is a simple one line solution that the mayor can solve immediately. Changing crime and violence in the city is not so simple.
I know right? Yet our Mayor spends our money advertising in Florida. Priorities are all messed up.
It's comical, like people are going to move from FL to NYC. 9.5% of there income is gone to state and city taxes, plus the cost of living increase to have a substantially smaller place.

The topic of the thread is about offering people the privilege to exercise freedom of speech. I don’t know why you chose to digress from the topic and shift to a topic about crimes.
Mayor Adams, worry about fixing the city and people will want to live here. Not silly billboards and gimmicky ads to try to compel people who live in desirable locations to try to come to this dump.
It's the 21st century, people do not need to live in NYC to build a brand or career anymore. Our leaders are stuck in the past and trying to reverse time with their tactics. It will fail.
This mayor is pretty thin-skinned when it comes to criticism. He doesn't want to hear it. I really wanted to like him, but this "my way or the highway," "because I said so" kind of thing rubs me the wrong way.
