No one is petrified and no one thinks walking the streets is an easy to wat get killed. What people see is crime increasing due to OBVIOUS political factors.
I understand why people like you like to downplay crime in NYC but I would have a hard time believing that if someone lit a fire just outside your house or apartment, you'd be OK with waiting to see if it spread to impact your living quarters.
When a problem becomes completely obvious, it's usually too late to quickly reverse it. It then takes 10x the work to correct.
I understand why some politicians and many residents of NYC like the crime Increases. They want Whitey and Asians to experience more crime because they think black and Hispanic areas of NYC experience high crime due to "systemic inequality".
Bingo. It's all self interest but none want to admit it.
I've said the same thing to these complainers before. Feel free to post as much positive news as you'd like us to see.
Instead, the most active part of this forum is affordable housing. Think about that. Then, these people complain that some talk about welfare too much. The politicians in this city have completely warped people's minds over the past decade.
I don't have to leave positive posts but I have so feel free to leave positive comments on them. Below are a few
You can also see more that I listed for Esacni to also take a look at since my positive posts are a major concern for the both of you.
I will not leave a positive comment on that topic. I am all in favor of recycling paper, cans, etc, but expecting a city where the majority of people live in apartments to do that composting is ridiculous and will only increase vermin problems.
You "I've said the same thing to these complainers before. Feel free to post as much positive news as you'd like us to see."
above are VARIOUS positive posts I've left. Leave as many positive comments as you wish
I think you misunderstand how this works. You can post. No one is obligated to participate. It's just like Free Speech. You can get on a soap-box on any corner of NYC. That doesn't mean you'll get an audience.

You asked if I have ever left positive posts and I have.

I don't use this website to get validation...nor do I use it to spread hate and rant about welfare...
I simply spread positive things I see and give advice in areas I am familiar with

And with this statement, you have shown your true colors, and lost whatever little credibility you might once have had.
To some people. But some of us see a problem that was largely solved being allowed to return, strictly because of political correctness.
And the issue is trajectory. Crime may have not hit the same levels of it's peak in the early 90's. But what had been down and kept low is being allowed to rise.
