Guys - how critical do you homeowners take a broken tile on the sidewalk due to a root from a tree pushing it up? I haven't gotten a violation yet but wondering if I should just get it fixed to avoid being sued in the future. Honestly, the block has 2 other houses with the same condition and nobody seems to care but I know the homeowner is responsible for this and not the city

Thanks

The city may be able to repair the sidewalk at no charge to you, check this out -

The city replaced 3 sections of my sidewalk that were being pushed up by tree roots back in 2009 and their contractor did a good job.

Should not the City be responsible for damage caused by trees THEY planted?

Usually the town fixes the sidewalk.
But if they feel the tree is being too much of the problem, the tree will go.
ASk yourself if you want to forget the tree.
