My mom should be coming to NYC and wanted to get her an apartment to live in Queens. My mom isn't a US citizen or permanent resident but I am a green card holder with a good credit history. I wanted to know if I can get an apartment rental in her name with me as the guarantor?

Thanks again for the help

You can get anything you want for the right amount of money.
Why not just get an apartment in your name and let your mother live there? Would probably be far simpler.

I don't see why not. People arrive here all the time with offbeat situations.

Sounds like you're a good son/daughter.

Provide personal record tracing back to you......I see why not.

Just remember the 40 rule..............I'm sure that's what will be requested up front.

In other words your mother is coming here on a tourist visa and does not plan on returning home. In other words setting up permanent residence in USA.

Yes, simpler situation but not something my fiancee is OK with. She wants my mom to carry her own expenses and only help her if she really needs it. (I have already given her quite a bit of money to help with her living situation)

Isn’t it illegal to house someone who isn’t a citizen?

What is your mom going to do her job-wise? Why not stay where she is now? Do you have siblings or family that can take her in? Why not just rent a room?
