I don’t complain about spending on education or retirement plans either. All of the people benefiting from these programs have paid their taxes - unlike those from overseas (who use our tax money to bloody the killing fields and further enrich the military industrial complex) and who haven’t contributed monetarily at all nor will they ever contribute.
Excusing poor behavior by pointing at other poor behavior is never a legitimate argument. I was taught that as a young child.
It's hilarious that you claim to be a fan of Ron Paul. Do you even realize what his political positions were? It reminds me of most of SI voting Republican but having the highest percentage of government workers. No wonder we're in an era of dishonest politicians being elected left and right.

The issue now is that they've so thoroughly screwed up the market that it would take decades to unwind. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. There is no reason why there can't be a healthy housing market in NYC.
No where did I say unscrewing up the market shouldnt Be done ….the problem is it has created a situation which if undone will hurt people even more as boston demonstrated.

Rents went up across the board and not down as building permits and renovation permits soared .

All this new cost money and it was reflected in everyone’s rent going up stabilized or not as all rents rose with the tide.

Last year alone saw boston rents on average shoot up 17%

So much ado about Nuttin as far as stabization effecting others

I was in cvs pharmacy the other day to buy stationary. The price of a small pad of paper was almost $5. This was a 99 cent pad of paper. The reason it was $5 is because consumers are paying for all the stolen items from that cvs store. This is a cvs that gets blatantly looted regularly by fencers.

If you apply the same concept to housing in new york city, with illegal immigrants taking housing and jobs here, the same thing happens with our jobs and our housing inflation.

Why cannot people connect those dots? What is the problem here?

If we had actual factual data about illegal immigrants in nyc, the correlation between the rise in illegal immigrants and the rise in housing costs is probably spot on directly related.

The illegal immigrants are the primary cause of deflated wages and inflating housing costs. Bar none.

The biggest problem source is not landlord or politicians per se, it is the illegal immigrants and the businesses that hire them. It is the landlord that house illegal immigrants.

Well from all the unfilled jobs we need to fill here in nyc apparently no one is taking these jobs .

The company I still do some work for in retirement has 55 job openings ranging from drivers ,warehouse , sales ,engineering ,accounting , that are going unfilled ..so poor analogy there.

Wages for these jobs are at levels I have never seen in my 40 year in the industry with even lower level jobs paying more then these jobs are remotely worth.

Wages have been soaring , so much for your reduced wage theory ..maybe if you are a Gardner ,dish washer or day laborer but no company is paying reduced wages today if they expect to hire people .

So got to call nonsense here

This country never had any issues with that until the illegal alien invasion began. I think people need to think more critically on this subject.

Why does every single other country in the world abound, and throughout all of human history, chose to have strong immigration policies? Except the usa since joe biden and covid arrived.

Why can’t i just go to other countries without a passport?

Why are known terrorists allowed to be obviously military like invaders, why are we welcoming in terrorists?

It is too bad the majority of people are unable to connect the dots. Our country definitely was outsmarted by evil.

Well you got your dream. You got unlimited amounts of illegal immigrants to fill all those imaginary jobs. Now the bleeding liberals are happy, and that is all that matters.

This country had no problem with filling jobs until covid sent 5.5 million workers over the age of 55 in to either leaving the work force or going part time or working off the books because they are gone.

You can blame anything you want on immigration but the fact is we are short workers all over the place and wage s are insane for many jobs as well.

Nor can illegals be hired legally.

So you are trying to make a point of immigration causing jobs to be taken and that is far from what is going on , those were your words .

But facts say It is just the opposite.

Millions of jobs sit unfilled despite offering wages beyond what these jobs should be worth.

Take your politics on immigration to the political forum

New york city has plenty of political issues to discuss. I am not off topic.

So your solution is to keep importing more illegal aliens to take jobs in new york city? How many more million illegal immigrants in new york city will solve the problems with high rent and lowering wages? 2 million more? 4 million more?

You can fit 4 million more illegal immigrants in easily if we just chase away 4 million middle class new yorkers that are legal citizens. Then, at last, the bleeding liberals will be happy. After all, americans do not know how to do hard work.

How brilliant

This thread is not for your political rants ..it is a specific topic…it is only about stabilization and why landlords may or may not warehouse apartments or choose to renovate them or not , or even be in the stabilized market place at all

Also, new york city does not have “millions of unfilled jobs”. New york city is one of the slowest places to recover jobs from the pandemic experiments. Why? Because we have easily over 1 million new residents that are illegal aliens, and the number is just increasing.

It has everything to do with illegal immigrants. They are not the pawns in this game, like how people say politicians are using illegal migrants as pawns. The illegals are not pawns, they are the king piece. Our country is legit being invaded.

The cities and states that are slowest to recover from the experiments are the Democrat run places with sanctuary city status.

Why are people unable to calculate how expensive the illegal immigrants are? Too few are able to understand the extent of the public charge.

The illegal immigrants steal from every conceivable category of life from tax payers.

But of course, if it makes the bleeding smug liberals happy that is all that matters. We have to appease the bleeding liberals.
