I never understood why prostitution has been illegal in the first place. We are sexual beings and some of us aren't studly or macho enough to easily get laid for free. Maybe some guys can, but some of us such as myself have a hard time. And let's face, it's not as simple as walking up to a girl and randomly asking for sex. That's an easy way to get slapped in the face. So why aren't we allowed to pay for it if it's something we really want?
My first thought was they are saving the jail space for more serious crimes. Had to remind myself violent felons are walking around with 20 + arrests. Seems they are just light on prosecution on everything. Problem with the sex trade is people are often trafficked or forced against thier will into this work.
I have not heard the word hooah used since the 80s. That was a surprise to see written on this 3rd day of 2023!
Oh It's been in use since then... But then again what one hears depends hugely upon accent I suppose.
Maybe law has decided to concentrate on the Johns like if it weren't for John's there would be no prostitution kinda thing.
The article is comparing decriminalization of weed to decriminalization of prostitution. ?? Kind of a stretch I think.
There would still be prostitution even without Johns. Not that arresting Johns is going to eliminate them to begin with. But the eradication of a vice really isn't the reason behind enforcement, IMO.
