It goes back to the mid-1980s when NYC gave out the Cable TV franchises. Maybe Brooklyn was split because of it's large population. The Staten Island franchise was awarded to 'Staten Island Cable' which was later acquired by Time Warner, which itself was acquired by Spectrum a few year ago. Time Warner had a better overall reputation that Cablevision. Maybe that's why Time Warner got most of the better neighborhoods in Brooklyn. I left Brooklyn for S.I. in 1990 before cable tv reached Kensington. I thought cable tv was the most amazing thing and channel-surfed for hours when it was new to me. LOL!
This is what happens when greedy companies break unions and non union.
Men lose benefits, jobs and add insult to injury by being rehired back for less pay so customers can lock in and amazingly low costs.
Then it turns into a shark tank and what we now see is the feeding frenzy of the greedy.
