A bit off the beaten path. You think they took the 46 there?
Probably as the bus is the only transportation nearby. They haven’t been in the bank the last three mornings (I checked as I pass the bank almost every day.) I don’t know if Citibank got them out or if they changed their habits.
Even the original charity organizations like the Catholic Church and Salvation Army are fed up w/mentally ill, homeless drug addicts. There is a reason why you see them sleeping outside the buildings instead of inside.
Just read some of the responses here by parishioners who are horrified by the idea:

What the hell would make them venture all the way out there? I'm curious. Of course that's assuming they're not originally from the area. Are there any shelters in the area?

No shelters nearby. That's practically on the Lake Success border... Floral Park/Glen Oaks area.

I'm familiar with the area. Just don't know if there were any shelters there, which is why I asked. Seems a bit odd for homeless people to be congregating at a bank on the Queens/LI border of all places. It's not the easiest place to get to by public transportation.

Now that I think of it, there is a mental hospital nearby that is part of Long Island Jewish Medical Center. I believe they treat addicts on an outpatient basis and possibly have a methadone maintenance program. Maybe these people were in the area waiting for their appointments.

Now it's starting to make sense. Because in that area, they would definitely stick out like a sore thumb walking the streets.

It is fairly common to see mental patients who walk over or take the bus from Creedmoor to the Glen Oaks Shopping Center on Union Turnpike and they often panhandle. The people camping out in Citibank seemed more like druggies than psych patients from Creedmoor.
Bring in the dogs. (See other thread from today or yesterday)
RWDS: Right-wing death squads now!
Or some Stalinist tankies. The Commies executed their junkies, too.
Kill 'em all. Or at least use them for medical experiments since they like drugs anyway and leave the poor cats/dogs/hamsters/rabbits/pigs/horses/chimps alone!!!!!
