Another possible factor is that many poor elderly in Democrat cities cannot “retire” to some place like Florida but are stuck in government housing in those cities so they remain, bumping up the average age.
I don't believe life expectancy is up anywhere in the US regardless what media source. Obesity, fentanyl, and other non-covid related problems are leading causes of deaths in US.
while overall, maximum age isn’t up , more people are living to older ages .
life expectancy depends on what cohort you are looking at and why .
as an example for retirement planning looking at things from birth is silly .
the odds now of a 65 year old couple having one of them see 85 is a whopping 73% ..
odds of one seeing 90 is almost 50%
life insurance companies can tell us every year approximately how many will die so statistics are very important to them .
but us mortals only have two outcomes , it is us that died or it isn’t .
so statistics become pretty meaningless without knowing who when it comes to individuals and planning
Interesting article, implying that not only do New Yorkers have an improving life expectancy, but that it may be in large part due to the fact that we lean Democratic.

Understanding the Red State Death Trip
But wasn’t it always thus? No. Geographic health disparities have surged in recent decades. According to the U.S. mortality database, as recently as 1990, Ohio had slightly higher life expectancy than New York. Since then, New York’s life expectancy has risen rapidly, nearly converging with that of other rich countries, while Ohio’s has hardly risen at all and is now four years less than New York’s. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/03/o...ncy-death.html
Being active is key. My dad does all his errands on foot at the age 80. Still going on strong.
Look at the map. Utah, Idaho, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas are crimson voting states with high life expectancy. This isn't a Demwit vs GOPee thing.
Another new stat is the amount of sudden death amongst young people. Possible causes could be lifestyle, drug use, covid vaccine, and diet.
Where did you see that stat?
