There are two other precincts that are also showing increases, and higher ones at that. As usual...misinformation and lies.

Listen.....naming the 41st precinct has HURT your cause. It is directly adjacent to Mott Haven, and includes Hunts Point and Longwood that you speak glowingly about. So remove Prospect avenue as the border of MH and HP, and you have that WHOLE area down there with the ONLY (47th too) increases in crime.
As for crime wave, for the past month Mott Haven has seen an infinite amount of increase in murders, 100% increase in rapes, 14% increase in robberies, 14% increase in assaults, 24% increase in burlgaries, and a 3 % increase in G.L. A total increase of 12%. I'd say that is being engulfed by crime.
You are too funny. When are you going to use facts, and stop using Mod cut rudebiased opinion. You are so blinded that you fail to see whats in front of you.

AS I stated...and as the stats show, Mott Haven's crime rates are essentially unchanged from last year (.72% increase)..you label it as "engulfed in crime"....the reality? It is essentially unchanged from 2007..which is the record low crime rate for the past 45 years. 2008 is forcast to be the 2nd lowest crime rate in the past 45 years...and you continue to try to spread misninformation...if I promise to keep your rent $400 bucks and make sure the scary white people don't try to "steal" your apt away..will you log off and read a book?

Admit it!!!!
Mod cut rude
The fact is Mott Haven is the WORST neighborhood in the Bronx, and has been for quite some time. That whole are down there have regressed. You have no right to talk positive about MH and HP. I can talk good about University Heights, because it has done a tremendous job in lowering crime...but how dare you gass up M.H when it does not deserve to. It has done NOTHING to earn a boost. When would you realize this? All that stuff you mention has DONE NOTHING! for the neighborhood. ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NOTHING! I dont care what the hell they put up on a vacant lot. Maybe the homeless shelter in Melrose is also a postive to you.

My mother pays $1,345 in rent for a 3 bedroom apartment. We are the most well off family in my building. Save your pity. Which is why me and my siblings are the only kids here who go to college. Even though its none of your buisness. Just tought you should know. Can you even find $400 rent nowadays? Oh yeah, Mott Haven.
And when the whole borough has seen 1-10% decreases in crime, that increase is magnified even more. Mott Haven will finish the year as the one of the very few neighborhoods to be worst than last year. How sad. And you choose to view that as a positive.
How sad.

Be careful. I may spoil to your real estate ploys and prevent people from moving into Mott Haven. And down goes your property values. Haha.

Very cool! Keep up the good work. I'm sure that you and your siblings make your mother fill with pride in knowing that she's done a great job raising you to value education and all the opportunities it affords.

And this thread has been entertaining/interesting to read. I think you both make some good points.

In any case if you look up the different neighborhoods, the ones that are considered worse have higher homicide numbers.

Wrong. The worst neighborhoods are the ones with higher robberies, assaults and rapes.
Which neighborhood is worse?
8 Homicides
22 Rapes
377 Robberies
320 Assaults
10 Homicides
10 Rapes
213 Robberies
159 Assaults
According to you the second neighborhood would be worse.
So you in essence would say that Fort Greene is worse than Morrisania.
