Need information about good neighborhoods in the Bronx, NY (Bedford: houses, prices)

Can anyone suggest a safe family-friendly neighborhood in the Bronx where houses range from 325,000-350,000 and is easily accessible to public transportation?

Not sure you'll find many houses at those prices. Even South Bronx shells are selling for 350K+ nowadays. But in the high 300s or low 400s you can find a nice house in Bedford Aprk or Norwood. Close to 4 and D (east or westside access to manhattan respectievly). Actually I think there is a 375K house in Norwood 3 bedrooms. Search propertyshark or Trulia. NYtimes.com is good too.
