Hi all ,
I am trying to find myself an apartment in the Brooklyn Flatbush area.

Does anybody have any good tips on locating the landlord owners online other than knocking on super intendants door every time to find who own it or working with brokers

And what’s with this one month, last months rent? I have just a credit checked and its over 700 and the same thing come up can I get a garreteer even though my salary is very good also, most people don’t have good credit on average.

Has anybody gone through this and would it wise idea to offer these people more cash to get in the door as I know the economy is bad and people are having problems paying rent.

Are you talking about security (generally, one month's rent)? I wonder if there are any apartment buildings anywhere in the city that won't ask you for security. As to the best way to go about apartment hunting--that's the old fashioned way. Go there and check buildings out for yourself. I know, I know; there's a whole generation of lazy, computer-raised people who think the Internet is going to solve all their problems. Hint: it won't. Unless you're trying to set yourself up (and not in a good way) you should still do a little legwork on your own.
