Hi everyone,
I am completely new to this forum and I need some help! I am trying to plan a visit to NYC on a small budget. I came across the Chelsea Savoy Hotel. The hotel itself got pretty high rating on Tripadvisor.com, but I could not find much information on the area. The address is
204 W 23rd St
New York, NY 10011, United States
Is that an okay area for a female to be in? Also do you know if it is near the subway and how far it is from time square?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!
yuck the rooms are disgusting(it was 160/night last year)....you are better of at the super8 on 46&6th...couple of blocks to times square...the rooms are decent and rate was anywhere from 99 - 120/night
The area around the Chelsea Savoy is fine for a single woman. Another hotel to check would be The Exchange which is on Front, by the South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan, which is competitive to the Chelsea Savoy in price. For a really good deal, check into Jersey City. There's a Doubltree that's close to the Path train to NY, and it could easily run $50-$60 less/night than Manhattan proper, though I do understand wanting to stay in the heart of the city and not commuting 15-20 minutes.
Perfectly safe, and Chelsea is a fairly cool neighborhood too.
