hey everyone
apologies if i'm repeating here what has been asked before...
my fiancee and I are very keen to move to NYC as soon as we can, although I understand it is not the easiest operation in the world! as far as visas go, i currently work for Disney and think my best bet would be to request to be relocated to the NY office - that way they could sponsor my visa. but what should my partner do? do you think he should go down the same path? he will be a qualified accountant by the time we move, which should help i guess. how long can we expect our visas to last if we are relocated through our employers?

any advice would be appreciated!

That would be the only way you'd be able to work here legally. Either one of you. Unless you can find some other employer willing to sponsor.

Since you didn't get much response, I just wanted to mention that there are one or two websites specifically for European ex-pats in New York. I can't remember the names, but I'm sure they'd come up if you did a search, and they'd probaably be a good source for yoru questions.

Thanks for all your help, I'll have a search now. Reading up a bit more I think our best bet would be L2 and L1 visas, how easy are those to obtain?
