First, The union is there to help. It took many people to make it happen an many sacrifices and decades for what we have today. Corruption unfortanateley comes with almost anything in some form or another. It is not the base of the union, the people who work everyday are. I think the only people that have a problem with a union is people who never got in or the owners. When your a union member you would not want it another way.

I agree w/ u Retired Sanman, I happen to be half Irish, but that might not help me because I'm also half black. But, the truth is if you messed up u messed up, no matter what color skin u have. We had a guy in my garage who got canned for coming up dirty for the third time. Yes he was black, but he was fired because he was unwilling to get help. So for the Sanman's Wife tell your boyfriend forget about losing his job, or even killing himself, what about that possible little kid who wasn't paying attention and crosses in front of the truck while he was driving. Would the high be worth that????
well said................ but in my opinion trying to talk sense to a person who is actively using drugs is a waste of time, they need to fall on there face a few times and realize for themselves that using just ain't worth all the crap that comes along with that type of life, lying, cheating, stealing, borrowing, paranoia, sneaking around behind family, friends, your employers, its an exhausting way to live. i wouldn't wish that kind of life on my worst enemy. sometimes losing a job could be a good thing, maybe they'll "wake up" stop using and appreciate the next job they get a lot more. thats how most of us learn; from our mistakes.
anyone know when they drug test? Is it at the physical or the medical? I just wanted to know because i am in the six thousands and have my physical on nov 5th. i used to smoke weed heavy but haven't in couple of weeks because of this test. i was just worndering if anyone knew when they are going to drug test me? thank you.

just as a casual observer and not to be taken as gospel truth but it seems that smoking weed doesn't get one kicked out of sanit so maybe it won't stop you from getting in. sorry that the policies are so lax. we as citizens do like our city employees to feel good doing their jobs but not to be rolling our garbage bins along whil listening to bob marley on their ipods singing about feeling high so high.

The answer is no,they won't drug test you at the physical. At the medical,if you ever get that far,yes they will drug test you.
