Hello Friends - We are considering moving to Brooklyn since Manhattan is to much for too little. Where is a bad sections to stay away from? I have noticed many of high rise loft style buildings. Sadly we are stuck with two cars and that can be a nightmare for parking. Selling cars these days isn't easy either these days. Craigslist is a big scam.com i have noticed - Fake ads, fee when they say "no fee" - etc.... Yikes should I stay in CT and just let my partner keep hauling his ass to NYC - haha! Oh well trying to keep my spirits up as I LMAO -Thanks for you help folks.
Ciao Tutti

The good areas are Williamsburg, Dumbo, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Park Slope. Further away from Manhattan, you have Windsor Terrace, Bay Ridge, and some others.

I may be a little bias with my response, I live in Bay Ridge, and all together it would be a good choice. A fair amount of people who live in this area of Brooklyn have cars and commute to the city. And if you don't feel like driving, just hop on the subway, which only takes about 30 minutes to get into Manhattan. Plus you get more bang for your buck, its certainly cheaper than the "hipster" areas, such as Williamsburg. Two bedroom apartments go for around $1400, down here in Bay Ridge. For NYC its a great deal.

If you do choose Williamsburg or those areas, just don't go too far east. East Williamsburg, Bed-Stuy and East New York can get a tad gangy.
