I want to congratulate all of the Probies who have made probation from the August 11, 2008 class. It's been a wild ride and now we can finally start working and feeling safe and protected by the Union.

Its because guys complain about doing xwalks and bus stops and dont want to do overtime.... So they say ok... i will get someone who wants it.
I remember when 8in of snow and i would be plowing for a week... Sometimes 2 sanman in the same truck... now 2 days after i am doing collection. Ohwell productivity i guess.
It's like the same thing with Porters. Garage's used to assign one guy a day to be a porter now, we have this JTP (Job Training Program) guy who comes in and mops, cleans toilets, etc. I know it's not the nicest thing, however, that one porter was another man staying in the district doing a job for DSNY. Another Union paying man working a pensionable day, now it's a guy who the city is trying to move off of public assistance and get a real job. But I'd rather it be another 831 brother like you and I.
Well its like i said before.. That DSNY porter thought he was above cleaning the toilets... The bathrooms were always dirty... Now we have this WEP guy or whereva he is from cleaning and i must say he works hard! I aways see him cleaning... Guys cry too much... they get someone else... then they cry they arent doing it....

It's in our contract that our manpower cannot be officially reduced by these OTJ Wep's... When push comes to shove they go and we stay.
