Just wondering when people talk about moving to midtown Manhattan or UES, Gramercy is rarely disussed, yet it seems like a decent area: safe, close to the park (within walking distance anyway.) Anybody familiar with it? How expensive is it in comparsion to UES? What is the neighborhood like in terms of aesthetics?
The area immediately around the park is beautiful. The park is only accessible to key holders, and those holders are restricted to those who live right by the park in the co-ops and private homes there.
Farther away from the park, except for Irving place, not as nice, but not bad.
Gramercy Park...It's nearer Murray Hill than the UES.
